Leslie Nielsen was hysterically funny, and he never even cracked a smile. His deadpan delivery in Airplane! and The Naked Gun movies is really quite masterful. I am pretty convinced that the below line, delivered by a lesser actor, would never have become so memorable and quoted.

It is no surprise that this Thanksgiving, I am thankful for Eli, Courtney, Sherlock, and all of our family and friends.
But what is Jack Donaghy from 30 Rock thankful for?
That’s right – he’s thankful for delicious pies from Wegmans!
And even rich and powerful GE/Kabletown executives like Jack know that life in NYC would be made [...]

Remember when I wrote about how a Buffy movie might happen without Joss Whedon? Well, it’s offically happening.
Sigh.
So what does Joss himself think about it? You can and should read his thoughts here, but his point is essentially that it seems strange to remake something when the original is still so fresh in people’s minds.

You’re walking into a crappy situation – the payroll is over-inflated, you’ve got injuries to deal with, and the players that are healthy aren’t playing to their true potential.

Last year, I wished my mother a Happy Birthday while simultaneously embarrassing her. This year, I plan to continue that tradition.
Happy Birthday to an amazing woman, who is a devoted wife, a caring Grandma, and a wonderful Mom – she did after all raise a brilliant and charming son, and a daughter as well.
She also [...]

Spoiler Alert if you haven’t seen last night’s Simpsons Halloween episode, I guess.
I am not one of those people who think The Simpsons isn’t funny anymore. I still watch every episode, and I happen to think they have been putting out some really amazing stuff over the past several seasons. In fact, I actually get [...]

Like pretty much everyone else on Earth, I loved Batman Begins and its sequel The Dark Knight. Like every other geek worth his salt, I am extremely excited for the next and final installment in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. Who will the villain be? Who will be cast? How will the story pick up after [...]
