A Happy and Healthy New Year to all of my loyal and faithful readers, as well as the people who accidentally stumble onto my page while looking for South Park or Katharine McPhee pictures.
Our week off was full of nesting – getting the nursery, and the house in general, a lot more “done.” Done is a relative term, but the last 3 rooms that needed work: the nursery, the guest bedroom, and the office, are all now fully functional and somewhat decorated rooms. There are no giant storage bins lying around, there are no rooms of the house that are just places where we are temporarily storing stuff while we finish up another room. Nope, every room is its own room. All of the hideous carpeting has been pulled up, and all of the old-fashioned wallpaper has been pulled down. Courtney’s brother Justin helped us out with some projects, and despite the fact that the week off wasn’t exactly relaxing per se, we did get a lot done.
Of course, it wasn’t ALL work – we had some fun too. We saw Up in the Air, which was pretty entertaining. On New Year’s Eve we stayed in, ordered Chinese food, and watched an old movie on DVD – aren’t we such a boring married couple? Our movie choice? Gone With the Wind. I’d never seen it, and despite the fact that it is loooooooong, I actually didn’t hate it. On New Year’s Day, we tried a great place by us for breakfast, and I had – get this – french toast crusted with Frosted Flakes!! Yeah. Needless to say, it was the best breakfast I’ve had all decade.
Here’s to an exciting year!

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackYou’d *never* seen Gone With the Wind?! I don’t think your New Year’s Eve plans were boring, they were essential! Beats staying up with a crying baby all night and then having to take her to the emergency room the next day for pneumonia! (She’s fine now.) Hope your New Year’s next year is just as boring as this year’s was and that the little one lets you catch up on some sleep.
