Yup, we’re doing it again!

After the success of last year’s Nick’s Marathon, we’re holding another triple birthday party/video-game marathon. And this year should be even bigger and better: James, Mehler, and myself turn a combined 90 years-old, and towards the end of the marathon, we’ll be trying to beat a brand new Super Mario game!

But we’ll get to that later.

Last year, we raised over $3,000 for three amazing charities in Nick’s name: The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, The Ronald McDonald House, and Child’s Play. My personal goal is to pass the $5,000 mark this year. Once again, there will be a gift for anyone who donates $100 or more – a geek-tastic Nick’s Marathon USB drive bracelet! Of course, donations of any amount are greatly appreciated – however small. Just hit the PayPal button on the top left of this page, or just head over to the official Nick’s Marathon site.

It’s been over a year since Nick passed away, and it still hurts like hell. Of course, raising a billion dollars wouldn’t bring him back, but it’s still nice to do something positive in his name.

And man, would Nick love this year’s line-up of games. We’re gonna be playing, among other games, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, Ghostbusters: The Video Game, Rock Band, and… wait for it… New Super Mario Bros. Wii! That game goes on sale the Sunday of the marathon, which means we will run out, grab the game, and then spend the rest of the day playing the brand new and first ever multiplayer co-op Super Mario Bros!

The party is set for Friday, November 13th at James’ apartment (email me if you need the address), and the marathon will continue – non-stop – for the rest of the weekend. So come to the party, stop by to game any other time throughout the weekend if you can, watch the live feed at nicksmarathon.com if you can’t, and donate to a great cause!
