So last weekend, the Noahs attended an amazingly fun wedding reception, with a pretty odd valet. The valet didn’t have any board with the keys, and nobody got any tags – he just hid the car keys in the tire wells, and spent the whole wedding pacing back and forth through the lot monitoring the situation and telling anyone who would talk to him that everything would be fine and he was watching all of the cars like a hawk. Weird, but whatever.

So after the wedding when it was time to go, the valet got our car for us, and as I was handing him a tip, he smiled and said, “Hey thanks, this is a great starter car. Have a good night!”

It took me a second to process what he said, but wow – a starter car? Really? If he read this site, he’d know it was my sixth car! And seriously, a starter car? It’s a 2007 Corolla! I know it’s not a Ferrari, but it’s not like it’s a Tata Nano or anything either.

And of course it was only after we drove away did we think of replying to the valet, “Thanks, and you’ve got yourself a great starter job!”
