Hooray, the Mets have a closer again! And a good one to boot – 62 games saved last year!
Of course, there are still issues that need to be addressed this off-season: starting pitching, relief pitching, and second base being the chief three. But signing K-Rod shows that Minaya and co. are willing to spend some bucks to get the 2009 team that we need.
And speaking of the Mets in 2009, currently mets.com only has season ticket, 40 game, and 15 game plans available. I’m not sure if they’re phasing out the 7 Packs for bigger plans or not – though a few years ago the 7 Pack was a 6 Pack, so it wouldn’t be that surprising if they keep going in that direction…
UPDATE 12/11/08: Mets add J.J. Putz to our bullpen! Plus Heilman has officially been unloaded! Endy Chavez, you will be missed, but this seems like an “amazing” move!

This is terrible news Al. I demand you do something about it.
