Um, yeah.
Adolf Hitler has a page on imdb.com
Why?
He’s not an actor, or a producer, or a director, like most of the people who have profiles on IMDb, which by the way stands for the Internet Movie Database.
Now, if he had a profile page on the Internet Dictator Database, that would make perfect sense. But a showbiz site?
It’s not even just the fact that Hitler has movie and TV credits - in fact that does make some degree of sense - it’s the things that are on the sub-pages that really disturb me. For example:
His Trademarks include “Fierce, loud, energetic speeches” and “Dramatic hand gestures.”
Under Trivia, it says “Ruler of Nazi Germany (The Third Reich) 1933-1945, ” “Was a big fan of American football,” and “Suffered from insomnia, depression, and urolagnia.” (Look it up.)
There is a link to some photos on FanPix.net.
And his Message Board is surprisingly active, with threads like “He was mean” and “He wouldn’t have been 5 ft 9!”
Oh, and if you’re wondering how I stumbled upon this little-know fact, I was checking the IMDB news page (as I am often known to do), and stumbled upon this story about a tryst he had with actress Hedy Lamarr. It’s fine that this story be included on their news page, seeing as how it involves an actress, and of course Miss Lamarr should have a link in the story to her own profile page, but Adolf effing Hitler?
Well, at least Adolf isn’t alone: Joseph Stalin, Kim Jong-Il,and Osama bin Laden all have pages as well.
