I trust you all read last Friday’s many Superman links.  Want to kill another 45 minutes?  Watch Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog, below.  It’s basically just like this blog, only a video, and a musical, and with a freeze-ray.

I know, I’m about a decade late to the Whedon party, and I still have a little Buffy and all of Angel and Firefly to watch before Dollhouse starts, but dammit, Joss Whedon is awesome.  And for anyone who HASN’T heard about Dr. Horrible, the long story short is that during the writer’s strike, Joss was bored, and so he wrote this three-act story about a super-villain who likes to sing.  The idea was to make professional looking content on the cheap for the web as an alternative to writing long-form shows for television or short video clips for online.  And, you know, to make it hysterically funny.

Neil Patrick Harris a.k.a. NPH a.k.a. Doogie stars as Dr. Horrible, and while I could sum up the plot, I think doing so would be a crime worthy of Bad Horse’s Evil League of Evil.  Seriously, carve out some time and watch it.  It will be avaialble for free from Hulu for a few months, or you can buy it on iTunes, or you can wait for the DVD and soundtrack to be released.  Not only is Joss a genius for creating this (and Buffy), but he’s also going to show that if you make quality content, you can give it away for free on the net and still make a profit by selling extras later on.  Sorry it took me so long to jump on the Whedon bandwagon - I once was blind, but now I see!
