The Simpsons have traveled all over the country and the world, but for the first time this week, they finally go to Sundance for its famous film festival. Sure, Springfield had its own film festival, but that was 13 years ago. Jim Jarmusch and John C. Reilly lend their voices for the episode, but Jim ends up being overused and John is underused.
Here’s an excerpt from my “Any Given Sundance” Review:
Lisa’s movie is not particularly entertaining, and it once again makes her look like a jerk for the way she looks down at her family. Her screening did lead to some great lines, however – the reaction of one man screaming “Death to Maggie!” had me laughing out loud, as did Comic Book Guy’s recommendation that nerds “landspeeder, not bantha” to their local theaters to see this movie. Nelson’s movie was funnier, though it did evoke memories of Barney’s movie “Pukahontas” in
